My twin brother and I got these London Dungeon and London Eye combo tickets as birthday presents. We had loads of fun and even learned about our city's past. We were a bit bummed out that they didn't allow us to film in the London Dungeon. However, I understand their reasons, as they don’t want spoilers for other visitors, which is fair enough. The London Eye was also great, as it’s the best spot to get a 360-degree view of the wider city area.
Although it was wonderful to get a panoramic view from the London Eye capsule, it was the London Dungeon experience that really impressed me. Sure, it’s a bit touristy, but I still learned a lot about the history of London. In each room, there was a character played by a live actor, and they told their story in a dark but hilarious way. Sometimes, they pick one of the visitors and draw them into their play. Meeting Jack the Ripper was memorable, but I won’t give details and spoil the surprise. There was a drop ride at the end, and although it was completely safe, I wasn’t prepared for it—so fair warning to others.

Interesting facts about The London Dungeon
- Did you know that over 300 workers were employed to bring The London Dungeon to life? Not only builders and contractors, but also theater directors, playwrights, costume designers, and a host of artists and artisans.
- There are 18 different mini-shows portraying various events from London’s dark history. During your journey, you will come face-to-face with 20 characters played by actors, including the infamous Jack the Ripper!
- Great care and attention to detail were given in creating the gruesome cadavers. For example, the cadaver in the Surgeon’s room cost more than 10,000 pounds!
- Naturally, all the skeletons and human remains you see are just well-designed fakes. However, back in 2011, when The London Dungeon was still at its old location in Tooley Street, a funny thing happened. It was discovered that one of the skeletons was, in fact, a genuine human skeleton. This was one of the reasons it relocated to its current home at County Hall and created a whole new set.
